Taproom Manager


Job Description

The Taproom Manager will be responsible for making the taproom experience enjoyable and comfortable for customers. The Taproom Manager ensures smooth operation of the taproom by making sure that the taproom is appropriately staffed, that beer tenders have everything they need to successfully and efficiently complete their tasks, that the taproom environment is comfortable, and that unforeseen needs are addressed quickly. The Taproom Manager is also responsible for ensuring that customers have a positive experience during their visit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Tending bar in the Tap Room
  • Assisting with Opening and closing the taproom as needed (setting up and closing down cash drawers, ensuring that the taproom is clean and ready for patrons)
  • Taking inventory and Restocking taproom supplies and merchandise
  • Making sure that patrons needs are met quickly and efficiently
  • Create and maintain a pleasant taproom environment (temperature, music, cleanliness, conduct)
  • Hosting and executing special events in the taproom
  • Coordinating with Private Event hosts and ensuring that their event runs smoothly
  • Working towards continuous optimization of taproom operations
  • Advocating for the needs and comfort of staff and providing staff with basic supplies and educational material
  • Assisting in staff training sessions and staff meetings
  • Scheduling, preparing for, and leading staff performance reviews
  • Informing ownership of customer feedback, staff conflicts, and any technical problems with the kegs and taps
  • Ensuring that the special menu board is updated with seltzer flavors, beer cocktails, and anticipated beer releases
  • Designing Seasonal Beer Cocktails and Hard Seltzer Flavors

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Mechanical inclination and knowledge of cold room plumbing is preferred
  • Able to lift 80 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for up to 12 hours a day
  • Able to work weekends, holidays and evenings as required
  • Able to effectively work individually or in a team environment
  • Be a self-starter and work well with little supervision
  • Passion, enthusiasm, focus, creativity, and a positive outlook
  • Candidate must be able to work a minimum of 32 hours per week
  • 2+ years management experience in hospitality industry is preferred
  • Ability to think outside the box - use creative thinking and problem-solving skills

Compensation

  • Commensurate with experience
  • Profit Sharing based on annual company performance
